Josef Beránek, born 25 October 1969, is a Czech former professional ice hockey player and coach. He was selected in the fourth round of the 1989 NHL entry draft, 78th overall, by the Edmonton Oilers, and went on to play in the Czech Republic, the AHL and the NHL, appearing for the Oilers, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Vancouver Canucks and the Pittsburgh Penguins before ending his playing career with HC Slavia Praha. In 1998 he was part of the gold-medal winning Czech Republic Olympic ice hockey team. His father, Josef Beránek Sr. (1942 to 2024), was also an ice hockey forward with Litvínov and later a coach at Litvínov, Karlovy Vary and Slavia Prague.
