John Henry Johnson was an American professional football player who lived from November 24, 1929 to June 3, 2011. He was a fullback in the National Football League, the American Football League and the Western Interprovincial Football Union. He played one season in Canada for the Calgary Stampeders, winning the league most valuable player award, then played in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers before ending his career with the Houston Oilers of the AFL. He was part of the famed Million Dollar Backfield in San Francisco and helped Detroit win the 1957 NFL championship. In Pittsburgh he had the most productive seasons of his career, with two 1,000-yard rushing years, and he remains the oldest player to rush for 200 yards in a game. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
