Joe Johnson (basketball)

Court and Net Team Sports

Joe Marcus Johnson, born on 29 June 1981, is an American former professional basketball player nicknamed Iso Joe. He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks, and after two years there he declared for the 2001 NBA draft, where the Boston Celtics selected him tenth overall. He went on to play for the Phoenix Suns, the Atlanta Hawks, the Brooklyn Nets, the Miami Heat, the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets, and he also represented the United States national team. He earned the nickname Iso Joe while with the Hawks because of his skill on isolation plays, in which one player works alone against a single defender. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and is one of 52 players in NBA history to score 20,000 career points. At the time of his retirement he was the last active NBA player to have shared the court with Michael Jordan.
