James Arthur Jackson, known as Jim Jackson, is an American professional basketball player who played small forward and shooting guard in the National Basketball Association for fourteen seasons. He was born on October 14, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio, stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and played college basketball at Ohio State. The Dallas Mavericks selected him fourth overall in the 1992 NBA Draft, and he made his league debut on March 5, 1993. Over a career of 885 games he averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He played for twelve franchises: Dallas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami, Sacramento, Houston, Phoenix and the Los Angeles Lakers. His best scoring seasons came in Dallas, where he averaged 25.7 points per game in 1994-95.
