Jeremy Wariner

Jeremy Wariner is an American sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres. Born in Irving, Texas, in January 1984, he won the Olympic 400 metres title at the 2004 Games in Athens and took gold in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the same Games. At the 2008 Games he won silver in the individual 400 metres and gold again in the relay, so the American relay team defended its Olympic title in back-to-back Games. His personal best in the event is 43.45 seconds, set in 2007. He also collected medals at the World Athletics Championships, with gold in the 400 metres and the 4 x 400 metres relay in both 2005 and 2007, and in 2009 relay gold and silver in the 400 metres.
