Jelena Janković is a Serbian former professional tennis player, born on 28 February 1985. The Women's Tennis Association ranked her world number one in women's singles for 18 weeks, and she finished 2008 as the year-end number one. She won 15 WTA Tour-level singles titles and two doubles titles, among them the 2007 Wimbledon mixed-doubles title, which she won in partnership with Jamie Murray. Her best singles result at a major tournament was a runner-up finish at the 2008 US Open, which marks that season as the peak of a career spent among the leading players of the women's tour.
