Javier Fernandez Lopez is a Spanish figure skater, born in 1991 in Madrid, who won the bronze medal in men's singles at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the first Olympic figure skating medal in Spain's history. He won the World Figure Skating Championships twice, in 2015 and 2016, and the European Championships seven consecutive times from 2013 through 2019, along with two World bronze medals and eight Spanish national titles, and he became one of the first men to break 100 points in an Olympic short program. He retired from competition in January 2019 and has since run the touring ice show Revolution on Ice and a figure skating academy he opened in Madrid in 2021.
