Janica Kostelic

Janica Kostelic is a retired Croatian alpine ski racer born January 5, 1982. She won three Olympic gold medals and one silver at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games and a fourth gold in the combined at the 2006 Turin Games, and won five World Championship gold medals between 1999 and 2005 across slalom, giant slalom, downhill and combined events. She won thirty individual World Cup races and three overall World Cup titles, in 2001, 2003 and 2006, before retiring in 2007 at age 25 after ten knee surgeries.
