Jakub Kindl is a Czech professional ice hockey defenceman, born on 10 February 1987, who has played in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings and the Florida Panthers. He played junior hockey for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League and was drafted 19th overall by Detroit in the 2005 NHL Draft. He spent years with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League, made his NHL debut in the 2009 to 2010 season and scored his first NHL goal on 20 January 2011. In 2013 he signed a four-year contract extension with Detroit, and he was traded to Florida on 27 February 2016. He then returned to Europe, playing for HC Plzen in the Czech Extraliga, Kolner Haie in Germany and Storhamar in Norway, and in February 2025 joined Kiekko-Pojat of Mestis, the second tier of Finnish hockey. He represented the Czech Republic at the 2014 IIHF World Championship.
