Jacky Vimond, born in 1961, is a French former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1979 to 1988. Vimond is notable for being the first French competitor to win an FIM motocross world championship, a milestone for French motocross. In 2016 he was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements. The English Wikipedia article on him is short, so this entry records his world championship span, his place as the first French world champion and his French nationality, and leaves his teams, the number of his titles and his race results to deeper research.
