Jacky Ickx is a Belgian former racing driver born January 1, 1945, who competed in Formula One from 1966 to 1979, finishing runner-up in the championship twice, in 1969 and 1970, and winning eight Grand Prix races. He became one of the most successful endurance racers in history, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans six times, a record that stood until 2005, and taking two World Sportscar Championship titles with Porsche in 1982 and 1983. He also won the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1983.
