Jack Kenna, born in 1932 in Kilmullen, was a Gaelic footballer from County Laois. He played for many years in the forwards on the Laois senior football team and was widely regarded as one of the outstanding players in Ireland in the 1950s. He also played for his province, Leinster, winning three Railway Cup medals, in 1955, 1959 and 1961. He began his football career with the Jamestown club and from 1951 played for the O'Dempseys club, retiring in 1962, the year before the club won its first Laois Senior Football Championship. When he retired he was Laois's top-scoring National Football League player to that time, with 128 points.
