Iker Casillas is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, born on 20 May 1981, and is widely considered one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. He spent most of his career at Real Madrid, rising from the youth team to the first team in 1999, and became the youngest goalkeeper to play in and win a Champions League final. He later played for FC Porto from 2015 and ended his playing career in 2020 after a heart attack in training. He earned 167 caps for Spain, captained the side to the 2008 European Championship, and led Spain to its first World Cup win in 2010, when he won the Yashin Award as the tournament's best goalkeeper. He is known for athleticism, quick reactions and shot-stopping, and now works as a football commentator.
