Heide Rosendahl

Track and Field Disciplines

Heide Rosendahl, known in full as Heidemarie Ecker-Rosendahl, was born on 14 February 1947 and is a retired German athlete who competed mainly in the pentathlon and the long jump. Her best-documented single mark came on 3 September 1970 at the 1970 Summer Universiade in Turin, where she set a world record in the long jump at 6.84 metres. That record stood for almost six years, which makes it one of the longer-lived long jump world marks of its era. Her career is placed here as a track and field athlete whose two principal events, one a multi-discipline combined event and the other a single jumping discipline, show the range between all-round and specialist athletics.
