Harrison Barnes is an American professional basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association for the San Antonio Spurs. He was born on May 30, 1992, and played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels before the Golden State Warriors chose him in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft with the seventh overall pick. Barnes won an NBA championship with the Warriors in 2015, and he was also a member of the United States Olympic team that won a gold medal in 2016. His career joins a college program with a long basketball tradition, a championship team in the professional league and international competition at the Summer Olympics, which makes him a representative modern American forward in the sport.
