Motorsport

Håkan Andersson is a Swedish former professional motocross racer, born on 29 June 1945 in Uddevalla on the west coast of Sweden. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1966 to 1979, beginning with the Husqvarna factory racing team before moving to Yamaha, where he won the FIM 250cc Motocross World Championship in 1973. He was also a three-time 250cc vice champion and, in an era dominated by Joël Robert, was one of the few competitors able to compete evenly with him. He entered his first motocross race in 1962 at sixteen on a 175cc Husqvarna, with Torsten Hallman as his mentor, and at twenty-one he scored third in the first heat of the 1966 250cc Swedish Grand Prix in his first world championship event.
