Gunnar Gren (Johan Gunnar Gren, 31 October 1920 to 10 November 1991) was a Swedish professional football player and coach, best remembered for playing for IFK Göteborg and AC Milan. A creative forward known for his technical skill, vision, tactical intelligence and passing as a playmaker, he could also play as an attacking midfielder, in the mezzala role of Italian football, or even as a striker. He formed part of the famous "Gre-No-Li" trio of forwards at Milan and for the Sweden national team. A full international between 1940 and 1958, he won 57 caps and scored 32 goals, was part of the Sweden side that won gold at the 1948 Summer Olympics and the team that finished second at the 1958 FIFA World Cup, and in 1946 was awarded the Guldbollen as Sweden's best footballer of the year. A statue honours him outside the Gamla Ullevi stadium.
