Gundi Busch

Gundula Gundi Busch (29 April 1935 to 31 January 2014) was a German figure skater, born in Milan, Italy, who won the 1954 World and European championships and two West German national titles. Coached by Thea Frenssen and skating for SC Riessersee, she took silver at the 1953 European and World Championships before winning both gold medals in 1954, becoming the first German ladies singles skater to be world champion. She had finished eighth overall at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo. She then turned professional with the Hollywood Ice Revue, married the Swedish ice hockey player Lill-Lulle Johansson in 1955 and coached figure skating in Sweden until retiring in 1997.
