Franck Henry Pierre Ribéry (born 7 April 1983) is a French former professional footballer who primarily played as a winger, preferably on the left side, and was known for his pace, energy, skill and precise passing. He is regarded as one of the best players of his generation and one of the greatest wingers in the history of the sport. He played club football for Boulogne, Ales, Brest, Metz, Galatasaray and Marseille before a long spell at Bayern Munich from 2007 to 2019, followed by Fiorentina and Salernitana. He won 81 caps for France between 2006 and 2014 and was a runner-up at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. With Bayern Munich he won nine Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokal titles and the continental treble in 2012-13, and he received the 2013 UEFA Best Player in Europe award.
