Francesco Totti, born on 27 September 1976, is an Italian former professional footballer who played for Roma and the Italy national team. A technically gifted and creative number 10, he is regarded as one of the greatest in that role, operating as an offensive playmaker or trequartista and as a forward. Totti spent his entire club career at Roma, winning a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia titles and two Supercoppa Italiana titles, and scored 307 goals for the club. He is the second-highest scorer in Serie A history with 250 goals and its all-time leader in assists, and the youngest club captain the league has seen. With Italy he won the 2006 FIFA World Cup and reached the final of UEFA Euro 2000. He won the 2007 European Golden Shoe and the 2010 Golden Foot, and in 2004 he was named in the FIFA 100. He retired in 2017.
