Florian Thauvin is a French professional footballer born on 26 January 1993, who plays as a right winger for the Ligue 1 club Lens, whom he captains, and for the France national team. He made his professional debut for Grenoble in 2011, then moved to Bastia, where he won the Ligue 2 title in his first season and was named Young Player of the Year a year later. He joined Marseille for 15 million euros in 2017 and made more than 281 appearances and scored 86 goals across two spells there, with a short stay at Newcastle United of the Premier League in between. In June 2021 he moved to Tigres UANL in Mexico, where he made 38 league appearances, before going to the Italian club Udinese in January 2023. For France he earned 30 caps and scored 14 goals from under-18 to under-21 level and won the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He made his senior debut in June 2017, was part of the squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup, played at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and was recalled in October 2025 after six years away.
