Emilio Butragueño

Emilio Butragueño Santos is a Spanish former professional footballer, born on 22 July 1963, who played as a striker. He is best known for his years with Real Madrid, where he was nicknamed El Buitre, the Vulture, and was a member of La Quinta del Buitre alongside Manolo Sanchís, Rafael Martín Vázquez, Míchel and Miguel Pardeza. For Real Madrid he scored 123 La Liga goals in 341 games over twelve seasons. He also played for the Spain national team, representing the country at two World Cups and two European Championships and finishing as the second-top scorer at the 1986 World Cup. His 26 goals for Spain were a national record that stood for several years.
