Edith Hannam was a British tennis player who won two gold medals at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Born on 28 November 1878 in Bristol, she died on 16 January 1951 in Kensington. Because the outdoor lawn tennis events in 1912 coincided with Wimbledon, Great Britain sent a strong team only to the indoor events held in May. There she beat Sofie Castenschiold of Denmark in the women's singles final and then partnered Charles Dixon to take the mixed doubles title. She came from a prominent Gloucestershire family, married Francis Hannam in 1909, and later won ten Welsh Championships titles between 1912 and 1923.
