Donal O'Donoghue (Gaelic footballer)

Football Codes

Donal O'Donoghue is a Gaelic footballer who plays for his local club Mullingar Shamrocks and the Westmeath county team. He joined the county panel in 2003, a less successful year in which Meath knocked Westmeath out of the Leinster Championship before they exited the qualifiers to Monaghan. The year after proved a shock, as he won his first Leinster medal under the Kerryman Páidí Ó Sé, only to be denied in the quarter-final by Derry. For the 2017 season he decided to give his club one final season, a decision many people in and around Mullingar questioned given that he had not been a regular starter for Shamrocks since 2014.
