Dominik Hašek, born on 29 January 1965, is a Czech former ice hockey goaltender who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League, mostly for the Buffalo Sabres and also for the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators. Nicknamed the Dominator, he is widely considered among the greatest goaltenders in history. He won six Vezina Trophies between 1993 and 2001, took the Hart Memorial Trophy in consecutive seasons, led the Czech team to its only Olympic gold medal at Nagano in 1998, and was a two-time Stanley Cup champion with Detroit. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014.
