Dick Fitzgerald (1882 to 1930) was an Irish Gaelic footballer and Gaelic Athletic Association administrator from Killarney, County Kerry. Born on 2 October 1882 at College Street in Killarney, he learned much of his football in Cork at Presentation Brothers College and played club football with Dr. Crokes in Killarney. He was a member of the Kerry senior team from 1903 until 1923, played in the 1903 All-Ireland final, which Kerry won after three earlier encounters, and captained Kerry to the All-Ireland titles of 1913 and 1914, both against Wexford. After the Easter Rising he was held at Frongoch internment camp in Wales, where he organised football matches. He wrote How to Play Gaelic Football, the first book of its kind in the organisation, and went on to serve on the Munster Council and as a Kerry selector. Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney, opened in 1936, honours his memory.
