Dennis Rodman, born on 13 May 1961, is an American former professional basketball player who also worked as a professional wrestler and actor. Nicknamed the Worm, he is renowned for his defensive and rebounding abilities, and the official NBA website describes him as arguably the best rebounding forward in the league's history. He played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, moving from small forward early on to power forward. He earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors seven times, won the Defensive Player of the Year Award twice, led the league in rebounds per game for a record seven consecutive years and won five NBA championships. The Pistons retired his number 10 jersey in 2011, the year he entered the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2021 he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Away from the court he became known for his colorful appearance, controversial antics and his visits to North Korea.
