Declan Ryan (hurler)

Declan Ryan is an Irish former hurler and hurling manager, born in 1968, who played for Tipperary and for his club Clonoulty-Rossmore. Regarded as one of his county's greatest hurling servants, he joined the Tipperary team during the 1988 championship and was a regular until he retired after the 2001 championship. He won three All-Ireland medals, in 1989, 1991 and 2001, five Munster medals, four National Hurling League medals and a Railway Cup medal with Munster in 1996, and he was a two-time All-Ireland runner-up. With Clonoulty-Rossmore he won two county club championships. After playing he managed the Tipperary minor team to a second consecutive All-Ireland title in 2007 and then the senior team, winning back-to-back Munster titles before stepping down in 2012.
