David Storl

David Storl is a German shot putter, born on 27 July 1990 in Rochlitz, Saxony, and a member of the LAC Chemnitz club. He is a large thrower at 198 centimetres and 117 kilograms. At the Olympic Games he won the silver medal in the men's shot put at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and finished seventh in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Olympedia also lists him among Olympians who medalled at the major championships: the World Athletics Championships, with gold in shot put in 2011 and 2013 and silver in 2015, the European Athletics Championships, with three golds and a bronze between 2012 and 2018, and the indoor world and European championships, where he collected several silver medals and one European indoor gold in 2015.
