Dani Güiza, whose full name is Daniel González Güiza, is a Spanish footballer who plays as a striker. Born on 17 August 1980, he was a late bloomer who made his name at the age of 27, when he was crowned top scorer of La Liga while playing for Mallorca. That form carried him into the Spain national team, which he helped to win the 2008 European Championship, and shortly afterwards he signed with Fenerbahce in Turkey. Over eight seasons in the Spanish top division he played 141 matches and scored 52 goals, mostly for Mallorca and Getafe, and across his career he played football on three continents. At the time of the source he was still playing for Jerez Industrial in the regional Primera Andaluza.
