Colm Callanan is an Irish hurler from Kinvara in County Galway, born in 1982, who played in goal. He comes from a hurling family, his mother Mary Daly having played camogie and won an All-Ireland medal with Athenry. He began with the Kinvara club as an outfield player before becoming the club's senior goalkeeper at eighteen. At inter-county level he went through the Galway minor and under-21 grades, winning an All-Ireland minor medal as a non-playing substitute in 2000, and he made his senior championship debut in 2007. He spent twelve years with the Galway senior hurling team, and his career reached its high point when he won an All-Ireland medal in 2017, the county's first title in 29 years. He also collected two Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals before announcing his retirement from inter-county hurling in November 2019.
