Colin McRae

Colin McRae was a Scottish rally driver who lived from 1968 to 2007. He won the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1995 at age 27, becoming the first Scottish champion and, at the time, the youngest ever, a record that stood until 2022, and he won the British Rally Championship in 1991 and 1992 before his world title. Driving for Subaru he took 25 world championship rally wins and helped the team to three consecutive manufacturers' titles from 1995 to 1997, later added event wins for Ford, and was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1996 before dying in a helicopter crash near his home in 2007.
