Cho U

Cho U is a Taiwanese-born professional Go player, born on January 20, 1980, in Taipei, who has spent his career competing in Japan and ranks among that country's most decorated players with 41 titles. He became the first player to hold five of Japan's seven major titles at once, and his championships include two Honinbo titles, five Meijin titles, seven Oza titles, four Gosei titles, two Judan titles, one Tengen title and three Kisei titles. Internationally he won the LG Cup in 2005, Japan's first international title since 2003, and in 2002 he set a single season record of 70 wins, while also becoming the youngest Japanese 9 dan professional and the second youngest Honinbo champion of his time.
