Chen Yaoye is a Chinese professional Go player born December 16, 1989, in Beijing. He turned professional in 2000 and reached 9 dan in 2007 after reaching the finals of the Asian TV Cup; as a teenager he defeated Lee Chang-ho, then considered the world's strongest player, and became the youngest Chinese player to win a national title when he took the 2005 National Go Individual championship at 15 years and 9 months old. His international breakthrough came in June 2013 when he defeated Lee Sedol in the Chunlan Cup final for his first international individual title, and he has accumulated 21 competitive titles across domestic, continental and international play.
