Robert Lewis Bondurant, known as Bob Bondurant, was an American racecar driver born on 27 April 1933 who died on 12 November 2021. He raced for the Shelby American, Ferrari and Eagle teams and was one of the most famous drivers to emerge from the Southern California road racing scene of the 1950s. He achieved success both in North America and in Europe during his racing career. After racing he founded the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, which was responsible for training generations of American racing drivers. His career therefore links the West Coast sports car scene, factory teams on two continents and the teaching of performance driving to later competitors.
