Bevan Docherty

He grew up in Taupo in the North Island and attended Tauhara College, and his father Ray was a keen triathlete. In 2004 he won the ITU world championship and the silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, behind his fellow New Zealander Hamish Carter. He added a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He later started the Docherty Dares programme, which aims to support New Zealanders to achieve goals they never thought possible.
