Bernard Terry Casey was an American professional football player and actor, born on 8 June 1939 and died on 19 September 2017. He was a football player and All-American hurdler at Bowling Green State University, and then played professionally as a wide receiver in the National Football League, first for the San Francisco 49ers and then for the Los Angeles Rams. He made his acting debut in the Western film Guns of the Magnificent Seven in 1969, and after retiring from football he became a leading man and action hero in the blaxploitation film genre of the 1970s. He is recorded here as a football player whose athletic career, spanning college hurdling and the professional game, led directly into a second career in film.
