Arne Kring is a Swedish former professional motocross racer, born on 17 November 1942 in Knåda in the province of Hälsingland. He was a top contender in the FIM 500cc Motocross World Championship from 1963 to 1975, riding Husqvarna motorcycles, while his true profession was running a bicycle shop. At twenty he took second place in the 1963 250cc Swedish motocross Grand Prix behind defending world champion Torsten Hallman. He moved up to the 500cc class in 1969, won two Grand Prix early that season and finished fourth in the world, then won the 1969 Inter-AM Series. In 1970 he broke his back while leading the points but still finished second in the world championship behind teammate Bengt Åberg. He never won a world title but took seven Grand Prix victories and helped Sweden win the Motocross des Nations in 1970 and 1974.
