Antonio Carbajal Rodriguez, nicknamed Tota, was a Mexican professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was born on 7 June 1929 and died on 9 May 2023. He was also called El Cinco Copas, meaning the man of five cups, in reference to his record of having played in five World Cups. That achievement, a goalkeeper appearing at five separate World Cup tournaments for Mexico, is the feature for which he is chiefly remembered in the history of the sport, and it made his nickname a lasting part of Mexican football culture.
