Anthony Koutoufides

Anthony Koutoufides, nicknamed Kouta, was born on 18 January 1973 and is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League. He is considered by many to be one of the most powerful and athletic players of all time, played in almost every position and was often called the prototype of the modern footballer. Of Greek Cypriot and Italian descent, he became an Australian celebrity with numerous television appearances, appearing as the gladiator Kouta in the Australian series Gladiators and winning the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars in 2006.
