Anja Mittag, born on 16 May 1985, is a German football coach and a former player who played as a striker. In July 2020 she announced that she would end her playing career after the women's Saxony Cup final on 30 August 2020 and become a full-time coach with RB Leipzig. She then made a comeback in the winter season of 2021/22 with SV Eintracht Leipzig-Sued in the German Regionalliga Nordost, so her career runs from top-level striker through coaching and back to playing at a lower level. She belongs to the football codes group of athletes as an association football player turned coach.
