Angel McCoughtry

Angel McCoughtry, born Angel Lajuane McCoughtry on 10 September 1986, is an American former professional basketball player who last played for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women National Basketball Association and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She completed her college career at the University of Louisville in 2009 and was chosen first overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2009 WNBA draft, going on to serve as the franchise player of that club. She is described as one of the most electrifying players of the league in the 2010s and also played overseas in Turkey, Slovakia, Lebanon, Hungary and Russia. For the United States she won the 2010 World Championship in the Czech Republic and was part of the teams that took Olympic gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, where the final against Spain finished 101 to 72.
