Andrew Goldstein (born March 25, 1983, in Milton, Massachusetts) is an American lacrosse goaltender who became the first American male team-sport professional athlete to be openly gay during his playing career. A two-time All-American at Dartmouth College, he led the Big Green to the 2003 Ivy League title and, in the first round of the NCAA tournament at Syracuse, left his crease after a save and ran the length of the field to score, the first goal by a goalie at the tournament in nearly thirty years. He came out to his teammates in 2003, was drafted by the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse in 2005, and played for the Long Island Lizards from 2005 to 2007. He later earned a doctorate in biology at UCLA and became a stem cell researcher there.
