Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson, known as Fergie, was born on 31 December 1941 and is a Scottish former professional football manager and player, best known for managing Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. As a player he was a forward for several Scottish clubs including Dunfermline Athletic and Rangers, earned four caps for Scotland, and was the top goalscorer in the Scottish league in 1965 to 1966 while at Dunfermline. He won three league titles and the European Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen, then at Manchester United won 38 trophies including 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League titles. He was knighted in 1999 and retired after the 2012 to 2013 season.
