Alberto Fouillioux

Alberto Jorge Fouillioux Ahumada (22 November 1940 to 23 June 2018) was a Chilean football midfielder and striker who earned 70 caps and scored 12 goals for the Chile national team. He debuted for Universidad Católica in 1957 and won the Chilean Primera División with the club in 1961 and 1966, later playing for Huachipato, Unión Española and Lille in France. He played for Chile at the 1962 and 1966 World Cups, and Chile finished third in 1962. In 1965 he was one of the founding footballers of SIFUP, the professional footballers' trade union in Chile. After retiring he coached Huachipato and Colo-Colo, and from 1989 to 2000 he worked as a football commentator and analyst on the Chilean channel Canal 13, forming a well known pair with Néstor Isella. He died in Santiago, his birth city, aged 77.
