Alan Yelizbarovich Dzagoev is a Russian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, born on 17 June 1990. He joined Akademiya Tolyatti in 2006, stayed two seasons, and then moved to CSKA Moscow, where a successful first season in the Russian Premier League earned him the award for the league's best young player and a place in the Russian national team. He is regarded as a star in his native North Ossetia. A full international for Russia since 2008, he finished as joint top scorer at UEFA Euro 2012 and also played at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups. At club level he won three Russian Premier League titles and four Russian Cups.
