Aladar Gerevich was a Hungarian sabre fencer who won a gold medal in the team sabre event at six consecutive Olympic Games, from 1932 to 1960, a span of 28 years unmatched by any other Olympian in any sport. He also won individual sabre gold at the 1948 London Olympics and continued competing at an elite level into his fifties. His extraordinary longevity made him one of the most celebrated figures in Olympic history.
