Adam Hyeronimus is an Australian professional jockey who has ridden in more than three and a half thousand horse races, with nearly five hundred winners. Born in Caloundra, Queensland, he comes from a racing family: his father Craig Hyeronimus and his grandfather Reg Paine were both champion jockeys. As a boy he spent several years in Macau while his father rode there before the family settled in Cowra, New South Wales, and he has said he was at first more interested in rugby league than in pony club riding. He rode his first Group One winner in March 2020 in the Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill Gardens, and he won the inaugural Kosciuszko in 2018 on the long-priced Belflyer. He has a long association with the trainer Gai Waterhouse, who praises how he judges the pace of a race.
