Manfred Schnelldorfer, born 2 May 1943 in Munich, is a German former figure skater who was the 1964 Olympic champion, the 1964 World champion and an eight-time German national champion. Coached by his parents and skating for the Munich ERC club, he represented West Germany internationally. At age 20 he won the gold medal at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, a surprise victory over the favorite Alain Calmat of France, and became one of the youngest male Olympic figure skating champions. He also won three European bronze medals and two silver medals. After competing he skated in the Deutsche Eistheater, sang and acted, and served as the first West German national coach for figure skating from 1974 to 1981.
