Levan Georgievich Moseshvili was a Georgian basketball player and coach who was born on 23 May 1940 and died on 5 March 2020. His name is written ლევან მოსეშვილი in Georgian and Леван Мосешвили in Russian. As a player he represented the Soviet team and won a silver medal in basketball at the 1964 Summer Olympics. After his playing career he moved into coaching: between 1972 and 1998 he was head coach of Dynamo Tbilisi, a span of about twenty-six years in charge of one club, and once that long tenure ended he headed the Georgian national team. His career therefore runs from a Soviet Olympic medal in the early 1960s to a leading role in Georgian basketball after the Soviet era.
